Corey James Grubb is an Americana Singer/Songwriter born and raised in Mtn. Home, ID.
He has been honing his craft over a long career starting with getting his first guitar from the local pawnshop at 15 years old.
After years of working countless hours at learning to play, sing, and write songs, he began cutting his teeth and small local dive bars.
At his very first public show at a lihe would meet his soon to be mentor, David Lyle ‘Pops’ Evans of The Western Underground, Chris Ledoux’s backing band.
Not long after that he connected with his father’s high school buddy, Pinto Bennett, a country music legend in Idaho and overseas who also mentored Corey along the way.
Hanging around the two of them, he learned an incredible amount about performing.
You could say those two legendary musicians helped shape him and his unique brand of Idaho country music.
In 2019, he signed with Emanant Music Group out of Atlanta, Georgia working with Chas Childers.
Chas saw the authenticity in Corey And decided to add him to the label roster.
Shortly after signing with EMG Records, Corey released his debut EP ‘One For The Road’ Made up of thought-provoking songs about his struggle with drug and alcohol addiction, existential crisis, and self doubt.
He saw a bit of success come from that EP, being nominated in 2023 for 3 ISSA Awards and 3 WHMCA Awards.
Though he didn’t win a WHCMA, he took home the Gold award for “Male Emerging Artist of The Year” at the ISSA Awards, as well as winning “Best Traditional Country Song” for his song ‘Bad Habits’, a co-write with Wade Huston, at the World Songwriting Awards in Sydney, Australia.
In 2024, he was moved from EMG Records to the new Ten Canvas Records out of Atlanta
He is currently working on a full length record and has plans to release that as soon as possible.
